Strengthening our health system

Our region deserves a health system that can meet the needs of our growing community. Albury Wodonga Health needs a clear plan for the future, immediate relief for staff and patients, and a workforce strategy that gives local people the opportunity to train and build their careers here.

In Parliament, I’ll fight for:

• A new single-site, greenfield hospital. Pause the current hospital plan, provide immediate modular facilities to ease pressure on staff and patients, and commit to a new hospital built for the needs of our region.

• More local training opportunities. Expand clinical placements, training and career pathways for nurses, allied health professionals and doctors.

• A stronger, more stable workforce. Invest in the facilities, supervision and professional development needed to attract and retain health professionals who want to make a life in our region.
